The Hopping Frog (music: SAS - lyrics: David Soule - © 1984) It is very late
A frog is hanging out, a frog is hanging out
 He is considering Language
He has a bright idea
It makes him hop, hop hop --- hop He likes nature
He wants to kill a fly, he wants to kill a fly He hops all over the place
 He is considering twilight
He needs to sing to it He’s having a great day and he thinks he’s bad Bridge He likes nature
He wants to kill a fly, he wants to kill a fly He hops all over the place
 He is considering twilight
He needs to sing to it He’s having a wild day and he thinks he’s bad

Instant 03:59
Instant (Music: SAS - lyrics: Daniel Ramirez © 1984) Won’t you tell me please, oh what’s your hurry? We know you’re the life of the party I like to put you on like I wear my clothes Take a one-year pill with no weight to pull I like your hair - I love the way that you dress It’s money, muscle, booze and ah – tenderness. So won’t you tell me please, oh what’s your hurry? We know you’re the life of the party Hey – what’s your hurry? She won’t neglect you... Got no time for truth, no patience for lies Ain’t no time to doubts that lay deep inside

You won’t force your time, you even pretend Not aware of pay for things that you said

You’re past your golden age, your time is so short Minimum’s the wage, it’s all you can get

Rug from under goes and still you go on Face in the mirror and it’s you all alone

 Hey – what’s your hurry?
He won’t neglect you You’re the life of the party
 She won’t neglect you
Now you’re running on your own - UH HUH (x 4)
Just can’t take now I feel like crying Rug from under goes to hell from trying
Gone and dashed your dreams the night just before
Cover up and say that you love him more Go to work with bruises blue on your skin Tell the story that’s so purposely thin

Family and friends give silent glances Why won’t they just say it, you long to tell them? Hey, what’s the hurry?

 He won’t neglect you

You’re not happy though you breathe the same air What is justice, now where is it fair? Go to work with bruises blue on your skin Tell the story that’s so purposely thin Rug from under goes and still you go on Face in the mirror and it’s you all alone

Go to work with bruises blue on your skin Tell the story ‘cause the blame the victim.

You’re the life of the party
 He won’t neglect you...
Now you’re running on your own - UH HUH (x 8)

Leonard 03:58
Leonard (for Leonard Peltier) Families and tribes and clans, they're living In balance with our relations on the land. Can we really understand? Then some centuries ago, came the strangers, Foreign invaders on their sacred land Began taking all they can. Do you know where is this land? This is our homeland! Native people killed to steal the land. What do you think of that plan? Soldiers told Crazy Horse to talk to soldier chief they said to fear no harm, but he saw prison bars then he knew of their plan. So he took out his knife, started to fight. He was stabbed from behind. Crazy Horse only lived thirty years. They killed him with their lies. And then in 1975, government attack Pine Ridge. Two FBI die, they blame Peltier. Leonard Peltier is framed. Told lies to send Leonard to jail. They gagged him for defending life of Mother Earth. Leonard Peltier is jailed. Where is wrong in our love of the earth. Harmony with all Our Relatives. Teach respect to children for all life. What they see destruction of our lives, religion. What they see destruction of our land, way of life. No respect. What to think. Political prisoner on his own land. Let's free him. Free the native people from these chains. Stop the war here going on. We're not talking about South Africa We're talking about North Dakota.

SOMETHING'S WRONG Everywhere, poison all around In the air water and the ground Poison food, sugar, color, BHA Pay no mind, it'll go away Too much stress, creative stress and strain People starve, but we take no blame Rape the land, we take what we need Take want more, suffering and greed Close blind eyes, TV, beer cocaine Why pay more, so much stress and strain Child at play, sparkle in the eyes What's insane? Fill the child with lies Happy times, all must wear the smile Toxic waste, but we’re happy all the while Weapons, war - here we make the bomb Take a look. Stop if something's wrong

Who Are They? It seems certain people, human beings, Think they ought to take charge, rule the world. Napoleon Bonaparte - KGB, and Mafia Should I wonder about What is inside their minds - Who Are They? Exxon, Gulf, and OPEC - Bilderburg and FBI If I knew why they must rule the world We could talk it over. Who Are They? The Illuminati - Alexander the Great They play a very thrilling game. Perhaps they feel it Burning in their guts. To learn the art of killing shame The soul must carve out deep, deep ruts. Is there danger to know Who Are They? Would I forgive their fate as human beings? Can they crush what I say? Who Are They? Their names and hearts secret, Who Are They? Holy Roman Empire - Trilateral Commission Jerry Falwell - the Visagoths and Vandals Is there something that cries human beings Behind the need to rule? Who Are They? Ronald Reagan – Sauron the Dark Lord My sympathy is hard to generate For those who are so big and mean, But that's the shadow of My own fear and hate Cast upon what should be clean. It seems certain people, human beings, Think they ought to take charge, rule the world. The CIA - Adolph Hitler Is there something that cries human beings Behind the need to rule? Who Are They? Cosa Nostra - - The Fortune 500 Is there something that cries human beings Behind the need to rule - Who Are They? Ahkenahten - Listen to me I am right My sympathy is hard to generate For those who are so big and mean, But that's the shadow of My own fear and hate Cast upon what is clean. They play a very thrilling game. Perhaps they feel it Burning in their guts. To learn the art of killing shame The soul must carve out deep, deep ruts.

about

The Oregon Bootleg Tapes (MediaGroove), a long thought lost live set, recorded in the summer of 1985 at Eugene’s outdoor Saturday Market, that captures the raw energy of the five-piece Stick Against Stone collective in full mash-up mode. Sounding like a ‘missing link’ between post-punk, funk, no wave and world music – the set is propelled by versatile founding drummer Richard Vitale and groove-heavy bassist David Soule. Together, the band burns through punk-funk (“Cramphead,” with guitar slinger Daniel Ramirez sounding as angular as Vernon Reid in his Defunkt prime); joyful, mutant ska (“The Hopping Frog,” which mimics its title in the call-and-response between Morninghawk and saxman Robert “Xeres” Shepard); industrial samba infused with dystopian alarm bells and Doppler horns (on “Rhetoric”); no-wave reggae (on the politically charged, Talking Heads-like “Products Throughout the Store”) and a whole lot more. - Bill Murphy (of Time Out New York)

Note: The performance audio levels and sound balance varies due to the fact that the camera was hand-held and moving around the audience during the show. Every effort has been taken to work with the material and edit and enhance the best qualities of the sound. That said, there are analog noise artifacts that appear from time to time, due to the nature of the medium and the anomalies introduced by working with a 28 year old live recording. From a freaking camcorder!
